Information about the second mid-term exam
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second midterm examination is on Thursday, November 19, 1998. Here
are some guidelines for it.

WHAT TO STUDY:
The focus of the exam will be on Chapters 8 and 9. However, earlier
chapter materials are fundamental, especially Chapter 6 on nonlinearity
and Chapter 7 involving dummy variables. Read all the applications
in chapters 8 and try the Practice Problems. The Appendix has answers
to those marked by a dagger. Answers to remaining practice problems
are available from Soft Reserves. Also try the end of chapter exercises
with daggers and verify your answers. You can also look at the last
Spring final exam from the Web link.

WHAT TO BRING:
TWO 6 inch by 4 inch index cards or paper on which you should copy
down all formulas and any other information you think you would want to
reference.

A basic calculator. If you bring a solar calculator sit under a light.

Previous rules about writing in pencil apply now also.
