BECAUSE THE CLASSROOM IS BIG, NO TWO PERSONS SHOULD SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. EXAMS WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTED UNTIL THIS CONDITION IS SATISFIED.
Since I have covered all the basics, class lectures will cover a lot of topics in a short time. This means that you will have plenty of reading to do. So start early.
WHAT TO STUDY
Chapter 3 and 4 materials (especially t and F tests) are fundamental
and you should be thoroughly familiar with it. If you are rusty on
hypothesis testing, go back and review those topics.
The focus of the exam will be on Chapters 6 and 7 (all sections).
Try all the Practice Problems. The Appendix has answers to those marked
by a dagger. Answers to remaining practice problems are available from
Soft Reserves (ask by Spring 98 Econ 120C and Winter 98 120B,
not Fall Econ 120C).
Also try the end of chapter exercises with daggers and verify your
answers. I have sent to Soft Reserves, exam questions and answers from
recent past exams (again under last years's 120B and C, winter & spring).
WHAT TO BRING
A SINGLE 6 inch by 4 inch index card or paper on which you should copy
down all formulas and any other information you think you would want to
reference.
A basic calculator. If you bring a solar calculator sit under a light.
Previous rules about writing in pencil apply now also.
