Research Interests

My research explores how institutional features of government--at the federal, state and local levels--interact with the broader economy in response to a variety of economic shocks. My research has two overarching goals: (1) given institutions, I aim to shed light on unintended consequences of government policy and as such inform policy design and (2) I hope to inform the structure of the institutions themselves.
